Ready for Baby
Deidra reached out to me in early 2025, excited for the upcoming arrival of her and her husband Ryan’s first baby! As part of their "babymoon" trip to St. Simons Island, she wanted to plan something special—something that would capture this beautiful chapter of their story in a timeless way. Her hope was for flowers, soft light, and a peaceful location that felt meaningful.
St. Simons Gardens
Wesley Gardens was the perfect setting—lush greenery, spring blooms, and the kind of calm that only comes with Spanish moss swaying overhead. It all came together effortlessly, and Deidra was absolutely glowing. Ryan was the kind of dad-to-be who kept her laughing, showing his best "dad face" and "dad shoes" helping her feel relaxed and confident in front of the camera and Blanche, their Golden Retrieve, was an amazing model!
It all comes together
We focused on creating images that not only documented this exciting time for the sweet parents, but that would also become heirlooms in their home—a visual reminder of where their growing family began! Deidra and Ryan had mentioned wanting a framed print or two, so I was intentional in composing a few especially timeless portraits with that in mind.
Maternity sessions like this are always extra special to me. It’s such a short season, but just such a powerful time-and it’s an honor to help preserve it in a way that feels meaningful and lasting!
