Something Special about Jekyll Island
There's something magical about Jekyll. Almost 20 years ago I visited the island as a young woman and felt immediately how special the island was; now as a photographer I am blessed to be able to visit and work on the Island on the regular.
Let me give you my top spots to portraits spots in one of my very favorite places on earth!
Driftwood Beach
Simply put, it's iconic. Say the words "Jekyll Island" and 9 times out of 10 people are picturing this beach! The sun-bleached trees poking up out of the sand and water these beach has a unique beauty all its own!
Corsair Beach
While you literally cannot go wrong with any beach, Corsair is one of my favorites! Near enough to the hotels and Village shopping area, this beach is easy to get to and has amenities. There's a bathroom, shower to rinse your sandy toes, and boardwalk down to the beach. The hills and tall grasses provide a stunning backdrop, perfect for sunset photos!
Horton House
The tabby, the garden, the trees, oh my! There's so much to love about the Horton House, it's one of the oldest buildings in Georgia. Easy to access off the road, plenty of with parking spots, and even more little nooks for amazing portraits!
Historical District
The millionaires may have left the island but we're still in love with this historic area. Wide, winding paths, benches, fountains, huge oak trees, dappled light streaming through the Spanish moss, horses clip-clopping down the road pulling carriages, it's a great location for portraits!

Unconventional spots are the best, they're some of my favorite places to capture my clients! This image was taken off the road, to shoot among the wildflowers! Jekyll Island has an unitive to beautify the road leading on and off the island, there are wildflowers blooming during the spring and summer, right along the roadside! Read more about it here.
