You’ve just wrapped a dreamy photo session in the Golden Isles—everyone’s glowing (and maybe a little sandy), the sun is low, and you’re feeling great. What better way to treat your crew than with something sweet and refreshing? So whether you're walking Pier Village or heading off Jekyll, here are five local ice cream spots that are perfect for cooling down and celebrating the memories you just made.
1. Fuse Frozen Yogurt - Jekyll, St. Simons and Brunswick
Sometimes you just want to build your own, just the way you want it! Fuse Frozen Yogurt lets you pick your base and then go wild with the toppings - whether its sugary, chocolatey, fruity or just plain simple, this easy, grab-and-go sweet spot will have you cooled off in a jiffy! Multiple locations, loads of options!
Scoops Away Ice Cream & Candy – Brunswick
Located near the mall and cinema in Brunswick, Georgia, Scoops Away Ice Cream & Candy is a fun, sugary ice cream shop offering over-the-top milkshakes, candy and my favorite - the ice cream nachos! You'll love the decor and the vintage vibe of the store!
wonderland- sea island
If you’re staying on Sea Island or nearby, Wonderland is worth a visit. This whimsical candy and ice cream shop offers hand-dipped scoops, sundaes, and milkshakes, including the famous Gold Brick Sundae topped with pecans and rich chocolate. It’s just as magical as the name sounds!
Frosty's Griddle & Shake - St Simons Island
Right across from Mallery Park on SSI, sits this vintage-style burger and shake shack, and it's more than just a place to cool off—it’s part of the memory-making magic here. I once photographed a surprise proposal just steps away, and the sign read “She said yes!” Pretty sure they meant to ice cream, but hey—either way, love was in the air. Frosty’s serves dipped cones, old-fashioned milkshakes, floats, and over-the-top soft-serve creations like their famous "Hurricane Frosty." This place is pure joy in a cup (or cone).
Jekyll Market - Jekyll Island
Kiddos and moms need a pick-me-up after a beach session? Head right to Jekyll Market, located in the heart of Jekyll Island. Jekyll Market is a gourmet market that offers a little bit of everything. Whether you want to pick up a few things for a beach-side picnic, some BBQ, a souvenir or delicious candy and ice cream, you'll find it at the Jekyll Market, which has an ice cream counter, which features ice cream, Dole Whips, Icees, fudge, gourmet candies, popcorn, glazed and roasted nuts, as well as waffles and ice cream served all day! One of my favorite places to stop on the island for a treat (or two)!
