Sunrise in Spokane, WA - Maternity Session

Sunrise Maternity Session in Spokane, Washington

This gorgeous lady is Erin, she's one-of-a-kind. Not only is she brave and kind, smart and special, but she's an amazing wife and mother, raising her kiddos to be as kind and smart as she is; she's also a nurse, which also says just a bit to her true character. All in all, just kind of an amazing person. I'm lucky to have gotten to grow up with her! Recently we have gotten to connect a bit more, maybe we have more in common as adults and the past has slid away; I feel so fortunate to be able to have been able to meet again as adults and spend time together.

Erin met me at a park in Spokane, early on a Sunday morning, not a pregnant woman's friendliest hour, but she pulled it off with dignity! We found the sun to be peeking over the hill, light flowing down onto the Spokane River, casting beautiful deep shadows and spraying golden beams of light through the trees. The earth dusty, even in the morning. Erin let me know about the crops, were thirsty, longing for a rain. We finished up the maternity aspect of the session, she and I both hopping into our own minivans and heading north of the river to where her family home and farm stand.

All the joys of farm life held wrapped up in one place: baby chickees to pet, kittens to hold, a bounding puppy dog to explore with... basically all the makings for an epic childhood. The kiddos happily show me their animals they care for, their garden, and tell me they are excited for baby brother's arrival. We start the family session by walking around hunting for shade, the sun was higher at that point in the morning. We found some and settled in to capture the moments. The laughs are real, the connection heartfelt. All the images capture a tiny snippet of that specific day, one we as parents or kids, will never go back to but one that makes us all look back and smile.

Time stands still for no man, or so I've heard. And I know that is true for parents. Before I can send Erin her gallery, she gave birth to her fourth child, that's how quickly life keeps moving. I hope you look back at these photos with a little heart-tug and can say, "Those were the days". Congratulations Erin & family!

Best,

Lindy
